Express Entry Canada from Pakistan

Step 1: identify an Express Entry program

IRCC manages three programs through Express Entry: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Trades Program. Many skilled applicants living in Pakistan begin by checking the Federal Skilled Worker Program because it recognizes eligible foreign work experience. Eligibility and CRS ranking are separate: meeting a program’s minimum rules lets a profile enter the pool, while CRS determines ranking within the pool.

Step 2: prepare language and education results

Complete an approved language test and obtain an ECA for education completed in Pakistan when required. Results must still be valid when IRCC requires them. Enter the exact scores and Canadian equivalency from the official reports.

Step 3: calculate and improve CRS

Estimate age, education, language, Canadian and foreign experience, spouse factors, French, Canadian study, sibling and provincial nomination points. Compare the estimate with IRCC’s official tool. If the score is not competitive, prioritize verifiable improvements such as stronger language results, a spouse’s factors, French or an eligible provincial nomination.

Step 4: create the IRCC profile

1. Prepare passport, language test, ECA and work-history details.
2. Sign in to an IRCC secure account.
3. Enter personal information and history accurately.
4. Submit the profile within the time IRCC provides.
5. Keep language tests, ECA, family status and work information current while in the pool.

IRCC says a profile normally remains in the pool for up to 12 months. If it expires without an invitation, a candidate may create a new profile if still eligible.

Step 5: invitation and permanent residence application

If invited, the account identifies the program and provides a personalized document checklist. IRCC currently gives invited Express Entry candidates 60 days to submit the complete application. Typical documents can include passports, police certificates, employment evidence, proof of funds where required, civil-status records, medical information and certified translations.

Step 6: biometrics in Pakistan

After submission and the biometric instruction letter, book an appointment through an official Canada Visa Application Centre. IRCC currently lists VACs in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. A VAC collects biometrics or transmits documents; it does not decide the application.

Timeline expectations

There is no guaranteed time to receive an invitation because round types, cut-offs and the candidate’s score change. Processing time begins only after a complete permanent residence application is submitted, not when an Express Entry profile enters the pool.
